so five thousand miles ago I installed a aggressive cam on my 2000 f body with 100,000 miles and when I drain the oil this time I found a valve seal remains so obviously we need to go find the bad seal well rather than just finding the bad one and replacing it at this point I figured I should replace them all with Viton seals to prevent failure from occurring again a buddy of mine wants $300 to replace all the seals with heads installed in the car well I just don't feel comfortable replacing them on my own so I figured if I pulled the heads and swapped on 243s i could have him install the seals on the heads off the car and he would do it for 150 so that means for the price of 243s new gaskets and bolts I am looking at an extra 350 to 400 for 243s. what would you do ls1tech and I don't want to hear Swamp valve seals yourself because I am NOT attempting them I would maybe a tent with heads of a car but if I pulled thrm I had mine as well put on better ones

I would swap 243 heads on if you can get them that cheap..

It'll be easier to do the valve seals with the heads off as well

Just be sure the 243 head surface is nice and flat, if not I recommend a clean up mill to true the surface!

Yea actually found some ported 241s that flow decently locally for 350. I figured shouldjjust swap them all out
