Default Porting my LSX 78mm

I sent my lsx 78mm to jay@ absolute so he could port match it to my new 5.3 stg 2.5 heads. Then i had spoken to him and he said he would like to see if he could improve flow by porting it so i gave him the go ahead. Jay said flow @ 600 had gained a few CFM but he said he was very impressed with the gains in the lower lift area . Then we got on the TB issue so now i'm sending him my 80 mm bbk TB and he is going to open up the LSX to match. I will have a 80 mm ported LSX which i hope will be a perfect match. I would like to hear some feed back on this please. Do you think the added TB size will help? Anyone want to guess what kind of power it will make? All mods in sig + what's listed here Thanks Shawn

good think you gave it to someone that knows what he is doing, i looked at my TB opening and that thing didn't look like it would be a good idea to try to open it up to 80mm.

i ported mine myself to match my heads

The intake can be cleaned up a bit in the runners and short turn area's.You'll see a few CFM of improvement.Would expect a 10hp gain over a LS6 intake.I would use Comp stock replacement lifter instead of the Comp R's for that Cam.

I think you will be pleased with the results. IMO there is a lot of potential hp to be made in the TB. I would suggest that you send your BBK to Shaner and let him do his magic on it. I have seen some get 13rwhp from a 78mm LSX with a stock pp TB. You may get 20rwhp out of your intake/TB setup if you work on that BBK a little.

Jay just did my LS6 intake and i also got his 78mm Throttle Body. Please keep me informed on the progress man as i may upgrade in the future to the LSX. Hopefully when prices come down. Jay got a few CFM's out of porting my LS6. I hope to get 10 RWHP out of the TB and Intake porting with my Stage 2 6.0L Heads.
