Default what fuel rails and TB are you guys using on edelbrock pro flo xt

After a lot of research on deciding between the edelbrock pro flo xt and holley high ram I think I have chose the pro flo.

The only thing that bothers me is that everyone is saying the fuel rails for this intake have small openings and they suck. I have some sort of fuel rails on my fast 90 intake, not sure what kind but will fast 90 fuel rails fit?

Also, I have a 90mm nick williams throttle body. Will this fit or will I need the TB adaptor. Its only $20 but to me thats just extra bs to get a vacuum leak.

I know someone is going to tell me to use the search tool but I have, for hours the last three days

Says the fuel rails use 3/8 npt. What size is that in -AN, 6? If so I guess that would be big enough. Why does everyone say 3/8 npt fittings suck and they should have used -AN?

I Have just put the pro flo xt on my truck with the xt fuel rails not a fan of the 3/8 ntp fittings they are smaller on the inside than let say a radius pump fitting .I had to run a 3/8 pipe tap through them to chase the threads as my fittings didn't thread down far enough to get a good thread.I used ntp to -6 90s just for clearance on the front and a tee between the two fuel rails then -8 to the tee from the tank .ntp threads in aluminum will guald up easly so make sure u use a quality thread dope like Loctite .

It all depends on who made the fuel rails, and how they did it. Ideally, they would rifle drill a chunk of alum with a 37/64" drill bit. Then you simply tap the ends with 3/8 NPT threads. But they can be rifle drilled in any size, and then step drilled for the threads at the ends. All depends on who's making them. The only way to know is to look and measure.

You have to be careful with NPT fittings, they are a tapered thread. If the walls of the fuel rail (or whatever) are too thin, too much torque will split component. If the component is cheaply made, it will split before you can get it tight enough that it doesn't leak.

The AN fittings that screw into the ends will be a 3/8" NPT to -6 or -8 adapter. A good -6 adapter will have an ID of 3/8". A good -8 adapter will have an ID of 1/2". Always choose a quality component like Fragola or Russell.

Never buy cheap parts; they're too expensive.

Well i already have the fast fuel rails so regardless I'm going to try to get those to fit just to save money. I saw where a few guys are using eBay rails and making those work so i don't see why i couldn't. Just want to get all this info about the Edelbrock rails in case i don't have a choice

The edelbrock rails using a 3/8 npt are junk. Good quality fuel rails will use an ORB - o ring boss fitting, usually -8 but some of the fast are -10.
If you get the pro flo LS2 intake 7140 it will take the 90mm tb.

That's what I'm talking about. Surprised the intake has been around for years and no one has done this yet. I hope someone reads this. I might just go ahead and buy one just to send it to you guys if no one else does

Bringing this back just to let everyone know that FAST or similar rails work. I ended up using my Nick Williams 90mm throttle body on the LS2 Edelbrock Pro Flo Xt, fit perfect. For the rails I reused my FAST rails. All I did was drill two holes in the bottom of each rail, one hole on each end, cut some little rectangle shaped slivers out of sheet metal, drilled holes in them, and bolted the rails on. Works perfect and no leaks. Strong and doesnt move any.

Sorry, this is the best pic I have. I'm away for work for a few months but if anyone wants I can get my wife to take pics of the brackets I made.

@TheLSBeast nobody at this time makes rails thats a bolt on other than the Edelbrock rails. Trust me I searched everywhere for the very best option and thats what I did, drilled out my rails and made some brackets.

I had one of the sponsors on here, cant remember who, offer earlier this year to build some rails and/or brackets to make it a bolt on deal. All I had to do was send the intake to them. But as you can see I just ended up moding mine because I didnt want to buy new rails.

Maybe coSPEED2 can help you out

I used a FAST 90 and Edelbrock's fuel rails on their 7140 LS2 manifold. I had an issue with the fuel rails being drilled improperly. The second set that Summit sent me was good to go.
The rails are drilled for 3/8 supposedly. My 3/8 to -6 fittings only thread in a few turns before getting snug. No issues with leaks...just annoying.

I just have a random filter setup on it for now. I'll have a more permanent one fab'd up when the car goes for the cage.

Someone have the measurements of the bolt holes on the rails from front of rail to hole and back to hole and distance between holes? measured on center.
