I am looking to get new mufflers. I don't think that the Spiral Flows are cutting it. They sound damn good but aren't making big numbers unfortunatly. So I am looking to Magnaflow for an alternative.

I would like some people's expiriences with Magnaflow mufflers on their duals. I was looking at the 4x9's, 3" in/out, no offset. Believe it or not, I am worried that it will be too quiet. Anyone use these? Are the 4x9's "straight through" like the race series? Thanks a lot!

I love these mufflers (mine are offset). They are straight thru with perforrated 3" pipe inside. They flow very, very well (flow numbers are way high compared to "others"), and they are relatively quiet. I had Flowtech Afterburners before, and these were way to loud at idle. The Magna 4x9's are deep and somewhat muffled down low, yet they scream like an indycar up top. Whenever I race someone, first thing they tell me is "damn thing sounds sweet!".

Sounds good, where did you get them? PM me if possible, I want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off...

Oh, and is there any difference between the 4x9's and 5x8's, besides the size, maybe sound?

Jegs. I don't know about the 5x8's other than you're gonna lose 1" of ground clearance.

There's a pretty crappy sound clip of my setup on ls1sounds. It does the setup no justice. I recorded it just after getting the magnas put on and the roads were wet. I rowed through the gears very gingerly.

I do. It's perfect in my opinion.
Idle - Barely louder than stock but nice and deep
Below 3000 - Still just a little louder than stock but sound bad ***
Above 3000 - It screams.

Jot Hot long tubes, H pipe and Magnaflow 4x9 oval mufflers(part # 11229 3" in/out).
