1998 ls1 m6 My car is perimeter bolt valve covers if I install a 99 or newer ls1 or lq9 will my coil packs work on those valve covers is there any other issues I will run in to using a newer engin

Your 1998 coils need the bracket that the 1999 and up LS1 engines came with, GM part number 12563288.
