Default codes after header install.........

Installed new headers, new true dual exhaust, oxygen simulators after cats.
First received the P1133 & P1153 codes for the o2 sensors before the cats. More importantly engine kept backfiring when suddenly
floored. Especially closed to WOT. After some diagnostic checks
the codes dissapeared, but still had backfiring.

This was all with the HPP3 tune on. then decided to go back to stock, and did not seem to backfire. Then for some reason, i tried putting the HPP3 tune on again, and the programmer gave a "flash memory corrupt" message.
basically it has to go back to hypertech, and since i was not the original purchaser, they will not accomodate me.

the car is stuck with the hpp3 tune, codes come in and out,
but consistent backfire for any sudden flooring.

Is my only option at this point to go to ls1edit or predator
and tune the engine to the new exhaust setup??

thanks for your time

I have predator myself, and i do not think that it could help you in the backfifring, I have heard that the ls1edit is much better in helping you adjust parameters and such after install, because all u can do with the predator when it comes to the engine is rev limit fuel and timing at wot

You need both Ls1 edit and Autotap to solve your problems. Auto Tap is an Engine Diagnostic program that will help with the codes. Ls1 Edit will alow you to make needed program changes. Find a good local LS1 shop to do the job right.

thanks for the info, i'm guessing that paying for a tune would be cheaper
than buying the hardware/software?

Yup that's what I did... plus the pro tuners usually can do a much better job than people like me who just try to dabble
