Low rasp mufflers???
I was chatting with one of the guys over at ARH the other day, inquiring about a true dual exhaust to combat the rasp I get above 2250rpm: and to my surprise he said that the problem isn't the Y pipe: it's the mufflers.
I know after searching here, it's accepted that true duals are the only solution.
I'm curious to hear if anybody has an ORY with a muffler that minimalizes the rasp?

A well built Y-pipe (Flowmaster merge) will definately minimize the rasp....yes a muffler will help (Magnaflo, Corsa, Hooker, etc) Duals of course eliminate rasp entirely.

I have a corsa muffler already, and the ARH ORY, which I thought was supposed to be one of the better pipes?

No, true duels are not the only way to eliminate rasp.
SLP Powerflo catback will also get rid of all of the rasp.
I run the SLP Powerflo with the LMII in the i-pipe swapped for a Borla XR-1 and will never switch to anything else.

I had terrible rasp after I installed hooker long tubes with a texas speed catted y-pipe. I had an SLP loudmouth II after the y-pipe. I ended up pulling out the LM2 and put in some off brand muffler with super aggressive baffles. It eliminated rasp 100%. It might have killed a bit of flow, nothing really noticeable, but I was willing to do anything to stop the rasp.
You don't need to spend a ton a good muffler if you don't want to. I bought a borla muffler for ~$160 and ended up returning it because I didn't like the fitment. I actually never installed it so I don't know if it would have sounded good or not. I bought a $70 off brand and like I said, worked fantastic.

I've heard both through Loudmouths and I prefer the flow master merge. Found this thread for more info.

Which headers and y pipe are you running?
