Default LM7 sealed heatcore inlet/outlet possible cause of overheating?

so yeah attached is a pic of what my mechanic did, he welded the inlet and outlet of the heatcore hoses, i have overheating issues now, havent checked the waterpump or the thermostat yet but i think those inlet/outlet shouldnt be sealed right?

i think it should just be looped? do you guys think this is the cause of overheating?

thanks in advance

Looks like you need both a new water pump and new mechanic. You are correct that they should have been looped together.

Yes they should be looped. Why would he waste the time to weld them when he could just loop them. You must have pissed him off.

Off topic, but in that picture, the arm on your tensioner looks like it's angling forward from bottom to top. Mine looked like that just before it broke in half leaving me stranded.
