Question hooker catback - snow/salt

My car is my daily driver and we typically see a lot of snow/salt during the winter months.

What are your experiences with aluminized exhaust systems and harsh winters? Has anyone used high-temp paint for protection?

My plan is to purchase the Hooker catback, and paint it thoroughly prior to installing it.

Want mine? I'm about to paint it as I scratched the stock black they have on it from the factory. Less than 2K miles on it. I could paint it however you want...

You should be able to protect it with a nice couple coats of 1500 degree VHT..

Should keep it safe during the winter months..

I don't know if this is related, but a friend and I tried to paint his exhaust manifolds with some of that 1500 degree paint. By day #3, it was all flaked off again. Hopefully, #1, the catback won't be nearly as hot as the manifolds are, and #2, perhaps we messed something up in the process. But, I don't see why a good coat of paint wouldn't protect the aluminum under there. I mean hell, look at rust-o-leum for lawn chairs. That stuff works miracles.

Anyone paint their system system years ago, and how is it holding up?
