Yes, the ps pulley comes off with a special tool. It is a split case that goes around the center ring of the pulley, with a solid shell to hold the two split parts together after you set them around the pulley. And a bolt goes against the shaft to pull the pulley off. The pulley is plastic, so you can't grip it around the edges. Just on that center ring that is metal.
There's no nut or bolt to be removed first.
To put it back on, you need a stud (sae not metric, I don't know the size, I just found one laying around that fit, but I'm pretty sure it's not metric, it's an sae coarse thread), with a nut to press the pulley back on to the shaft.
Not sure about the alternator, I haven't done that one yet. Looks like it has a nut inside the pulley, then it probably still has to be pulled. It's metal so it should hold up to the force of an outside puller without bending or breaking.
