Default Alternator rebuild cost

How much would an alternator build cost? A new one is fairly expensive( $249.95 )

Cool

If my Alternator went out; I would check Pepboys, Checker, NAPA, etc and get their new and rebuilt prices. I have used many rebuilt parts that lasted just as long as a new part.

The $250 I quoted was from GMPartsDirect.com. I would imagine that Pepboy's or Checker's would be much more expensive.

I replaced mine from Auto Zone for $89 I beleive. The bearings in my factory one wear screaming. The Auto Zone one had a lifetime warranty so I'm not too worried.
