Default Just ordered BBK Headers!!!

I know they are shorties, but I need to be smog legal and they are as close as I can get. 1 3/4 primaries and I got NGK TR55s Taylor 8.5mm wires, and GM gaskets and in a few weeks, carsound cats and custom 2.5 inch y pipe. I am expecting 15-20 hp, but we will see. The real test is at the track and SOTP. I'll let you know how much I love it.

Well good luck but I wouldn't count on that much gain, especially with cats...you do have a '99 ('98s/'99s had the lesser flowing of the '98-'02 LS1 F-body exhaust manifolds) so replacing the manifolds isn't a bad idea I guess.

Well, the BBK headers are a huge improvement over the stock manifolds. Mine had welds hanging down into the exhaust port of the header, about 3/8" to be exact. And their design isnt to hot either. I would expect you to see about 10 rwhp from them. I know the pain it is to be in Cali, but I don't mind having to put the stock stuff back in come smog time

I live in Cali and wouldn't have anything other than longtubes. I say you will gain no more than 10rwhp. Good luck...

Headers came in today, I get everything else this Friday and should probably put it in next Friday. They are sweet looking.

I'd do a bit of grinding to open up the collectors a bit more. The driver's side retains the stock 2.25" collector. I bet you will like them.
