Default Pacesetter headers / y-pipe with Carsound cats welded in?!

I've done a search and all I come up with is "I might go this way". (i've even e-mailed some people), some say it might work but no real answers.

Has anyone done it? Got pictures of it? It seems the cheapest route to go. I can even do the fabbing myself and carsound cats (94109 3" ) are pretty cheap on e-bay. But I have to know if it will clear (non-lowered z28) and line up.

So once and for all, does anyone know if welded in carsound cats will work/mate up to and clear with pacesetter headers?

thx.

Damn new NYS emissions testing!

It will fit you will need an exhaust shop to cut and weld the cats in place.

I am ordering dual cats shortly as well (going to install on Edelbrock Headers)

I'm thinking I can do this myself, I have access to a welder. Shouldn't be that hard, I plan on doing the install as well.

Very good to know, but i'm curious as to where I need to weld them in and if the stock o2 wires will be long enough on an 98?
