Default Dampener/pulley position...

When removing the stock dampener, why is it critical to mark its position on manual transmission Y body cars and not on manual transmission F body cars? Just kind of curious before I install my underdrive pulley.

Thanks,
Chris

The Y-body engines are externally balanced with the motor in the car to make them run smoother.

However, nobody I know with C5's has ever marked the harmonic balancer location and re-installed it how it came off with no issues.
