SLP Muffler ?
I bought a used "SLP muffler from a '02 Camaro SS" and it is stamped on the muffler "GM 997144 A 111302"
My stock Z28 muffler is stamped "GM 992132 A 211691"
The two mufflers seem to be the exact size and shape.
Question 1:
Should the "SLP muffler from an '02 Camaro SS" have a GM stamp on it?
Question 2:
Does the stamp actually have any relation to the part number of the muffler?
I am trying to find out because I dont want to replace my stock z28 muffler with the same muffler. Anybody know how to tell the difference between a stock z28 muffler and a "SLP muffler from an '02 Camaro" ?

There are 3 mufflers that GM makes for the LS1 Camaro:
P/N 10407348/Noise level control ?/ List price $436
P/N 10414653/Standard Z28/ List price $473
P/N 10436321/SS Muffler/List Price $610
Then there are the SLP mufflers that don't have GM stamps.
I do know the standard Z28 muffler is 27" long and the SS muffler is 22" long. I dont know yet about how the internals are different.
