I picked up my '01 vette alternator bracket today and while I was there, I ask if the F-body and Vette alternators were the same part. They said no since they have different part numbers. Has anyone tried to inter-change them? Also, what size amperage wise should I be looking for, for my conversion: 55 chevy with dual 11 inch fans, A/C (sumday), and the rest would be basically stnadard 55 chevy. Thanks.

anyone now if the F-body and Vette LS1 alternators are interchangable using a stock vette bracket? thanks.

pick up the truck alternators, there 160amp (i think) and are a direct bolt on. the stock fbody and vette (i assume) are 105amp.

Part number for this alternator and price? My wife's Trans Am (Auto) has the worst voltage when it's hot outside, maybe 11 volts at idle in gear. Really hurts the A/C performance while sitting there. Thanks, this is just what I was looking for!!!!
