Default 3" Exhaust Question

Currently I have a 3" custom fabricated X pipe system dumped. Today I'm getting it extended over the axle.

I had a B & B Catback. They advertise it as 3", but it narrows down where the tips are attached. I guess it's 2.5 there. My fabricator has to now use a reducer to go from the 3" over the axle pipe to the 2.5 tips.

Am I shooting myself in the foot by staying with the B & B tips? Fabricator thinks it may choke the exhaust there.

Any opinions?

Any "choking" will be minimal at best. I wouldnt worry about it.

Yeah it should be fine, the difference in flow isn't that much, unless you are putting down 700 rwhp, you should be fine Just install a cutout before the axle for racing if you are really concerned.

I am doing the same thing. It won't chock the exhaust because the gases have slowed down by then and there is adequate area in the 2.5" rear pipes to pass through without a problem. I think you'll be fine.

Let's see some pics when you done

update....

Good news from my fabricator. He was able to cut back the B & B tips to where they ARE 3". So it worked out OK. 3" pipe into 3" tips

I pick the car up later today. He's finishing up some of the detail stuff... Heat wrapping the fuel and brake lines and such. And I think he said he had to move the brake lines down?

Anyways, he was taking a bunch of pics and will be giving them to me on a CD.

I will post some pics soon.
