Spintech of Flowmaster 1 chamber?
Hey everyone. I'm still getting all my mods underway, with my lid/filter installed (LS6 intake on its way, FTRA ordered soon), and my back seat deleted. I'm doing my exhaust next (since my intake is done) and I ordered my Hooker long tube headers and Dynomax Superconverters, now I need to decide on a muffler. I'm definitely going X-pipe, most likely one from Spintech, however I am torn between two choices of mufflers: Spintech Pro Street and Flowmaster one chamber. I like Spintech, but I heard a car with the same headers as mine and the cam that I want (G5X2) and it sounded BADASS. Is there any huge difference in flow/performance between the two? Which should I go with? Thanks.

I was gonna go with a setup similar to that; 2 1/2 X pipe and spintech sportmans dumped, but ended up going with a GMMG. I still have a Dr Gas. 2 1/2 X pipe, never installed for 7 shipped if your interested. Oh yea, I'd go with Spintech's, everybody has flowmaster 1 chambers, be different!

Spintechs rock! I'd look into the Pro Shoot Out muffler if volume isn't a huge deal. Spintech directly told me that their race mufflers are in a whole different league than the street mufflers due to the different end-user criteria. The Pro Shoot Outs shouldn't be any louder than the 1-chambers.

Cool. I forgot about the whole drone issue with the Slowmasters too...don't want that. Basically I'm not looking for gigantic volume, I'm looking for good flow and a healthy, unique yet somewhat 'big block'ish sound, if that makes any sense. I want a nice free-flowing exhaust that will allow me to hear my cam (when I get one, that is ). I was just thinking Pro Steet's at least for now, because I can get two mufflers and an x-pipe for $140.

There is no real drone with flowmasters. Three of my friends have this setup and I'm getting it soon. Two have Jethot lt, one has Hooker lt, 2.5" exhaust, with an x-pipe and 10 Series single chamber flowmasters dumped before the axle. Have you heard a 10 series equipped car in person? I'll link you to the thread that we posted a while back on his car. There is a vid from a 3K first gear roll till about 3500 in 3rd, and then some cruising. Flowmasters all the way. https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/152470-headers-true-duals-video-inside.html
