Default Open header questions concerning RWHP.....

I have hooker lt's on my car that have the slip on y-pipe with band clamps.I was wondering are the collectors long enough on the headers to run the car open or would I need to add an extension onto them when I race the car?

Hooker makes a slip on collector and I was going to fab up a new system the would shorten my y,use the collector extensions and band clamp the y to the extensions.

Then I'd 3-bolt flange the y and the interm together and take it out as one piece. This would give me the ability to run open headers with extensions at the track but then slip it all together in a timely fashion.

What have people seen dynoing cars with the y pipe on and off...
Is there a big difference?

I run threw a cutout now but if I could snag 10 to 15RW but dropping the y I wouldnt hesitate to do it.

Any help or dyno info???
