Default Exhaust and Steering Column

Has anyone had problems with aftemarket Headers coming in contact with the steering column? I have Mac Mid-Length headers and sometimes I can feel vibration on my steering wheel. When I look under the hood I can see where the header has touched the steering column and worn the black paint off of it in two spots.

1. Is this a problem w/aftermarket headers?
2. If so, which brands are know to do this?

I did an engine swap (v6 to v8) and had to get a v8 steering rack and v8 steering coupler to clear the #1 tube on my Mac's.

Even so, I had to adjust the steering coupler out to the end of it's range. (there's a slotted hole in the column, that the coupler bolts to.)

What coupler are you talking about? There were two joints that I could see from the top. One way down, and one pretty visable up top right before the steering column goes into the firewall. If this is the one, I can get to it pretty easy. I see how you could adjust this, but I didn't want to go and adjust the wrong thing.

The part that goes down from the steering column to the steering rack.

It has both joints on it.

The part at the top is what I have adjusted out to the end of the range of the slotted hole in the column.
