Default Quick question about my lid

I have an mti lid. just the regular black one.

I dont know why I have never noticed it before...but the lid has a small hole on each side of it...they are about the size of a dime, probably a little smaller.

Should I plug these? seems to me these holes will let in unfiltered air.

???

did you buy this lid used or was it on the car when you bought it? THe previous owner might have had nitrous nozzles on there. Just plug them up because you ARE allowing unfiltered air into your intake. Some of the lids for the 01-02 LS1 had 1 small hole on the driver's side of the lid for the AIR hose, but your car is a 98 so that rules that out.

this might not be the case but maybe he did have NO2 on there. Or maybe he bought the lid used. Whatever the case, just plug the holes up.

the attached photo is from a fellow board member's NOS setup. I had a chance to photograph his car at a GTG in Arlington this past summer.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Most people just spray it every once in a while for fun. For extra peace of mind you could have an oil analysis. Sorry I don't have any info on how to get it tested though.

PM blkz28ls6 for info on oil analysis. Hes got all the info on it.
I wouldn't worry about your motor. I know a guy who lives out by me that had a stock ls1 and sprayed the **** out of it, every time he had the chance. Now that he is not running N2O, it still runs like a champ. Dont be scered...
