Default What do ya'll think abt set up, LSX 78mm AFR

Looking for oppinions on heads/cam set up before I spend around $3300-$4400.

The first set up:
LSX 78mm intake, w/LSX t-body, 28.8 inj., AFR 205cc w/66cc comb chamb.,& Comp 228/230 cam

The second set up:
LSX 78 mm intake, w/LSX t-body, 28.8 inj., TEA 5.3L stg 2 heads, & Comp 228/230 cam

Also need some good advice about what kind of tranny to run w/new set up. Vig. 2800 stall on my 4L60E or convert to T-56. I know it's a pain in the *** to convert, but I miss driving a manual.

The above mods are in addition to privious mods:
3.73, 160thm, air box, ported maf, ASP pullies, old 218/220 cam, Jet Hot LT, w ORY pipe, GMMG exhaust, & full suspension.

I would go with the LSX 90mm intake. The 78mm hasn't proved itself much better than the LS6 intake.

Exactly, if you're gonna upgrade intakes, go ahead and get the 90mm stuff. It'll be better now, and even better later if/when you upgrade to a wilder setup. Now, you'll have soome people say "90mm is too big for a mild setup, its overkill", blah blah blah. Its been proven that the 90mm intake/TB combo is beneficial on even the mildest of H/C setups......

****, I'm glad ya'll replied to my post. I was about to buy the 78mm today. I kept thinking the 90mm only for stroked engines. Good thing I checked this thread.
Thanks guys
