Default How did you guys hold your motor in place during K-member install

Got a PA racing Mild steel Tubular k member on the way just wondering how you guys held your motor in place during the install, a friend said something about placing a board under the oil pan and using a floor jack but i dont like the idea of my engine being held up by my oil pan, lets hear how you did it and if you did it again how you would have done it knowing what you know now, thanks, Kurt

I went and got some longer bolts that are the same size as the header bolts and used a cherry picker [engine lift]w/ a piece of chain.use big washers[the ones that are big around w/ small hole] so that it can catch the chain.hope this helps

A freind used a strut tower brace and a strap.

I was lucky enough to use a lift.. just put some muffler jacks under motor.

Jack stands under the car and a jack with a piece of wood under the oil pan works for me when options are limited. Of course the strut tower brace ia always an option if it is a strong one like the BMR or SLP I don't know if I would trust the Hotckis one it is made of aluminum and I woudn't want to see anyone get hurt. The engin hoist is always a good option. Good luck and be careful.

Can also run a piece of tubing from shock tower to shock tower and hold the engine up with a chain or a strap.
