Depths / width of Sumps
Hi,
I had deliver on saturday a new LS6 / Z06 with the winged sump on it.
This sump is very shallow (presumably for ground clearance at the motor sts lower in a Vette than an F-body car). It also is 20 3/4" wide at the wings end. This will not go through my chassis rails (TVR) which are 17 3/4" wide.
I am not sure if I will need to use a new LS6 sump - simlar to an LS6 but minus the wings (expensive!) or whether I could use a camaro sump. The enging will sit at least as low as in a vette, see picture, so really need advise on which sump to use.
Presumably if the engine minus sump went in and then the base of the block was below the base of the chassis rails could I then bolt the LS6 winged sump back up - I am doubting this as I'm sure it would not sit that low in a vette + the oil filter woul be hanging down real low.
Any advise welcome.
