Default Any way to make my temp guage work?

i know the '98 fbodies temp guage actually works. So what is different bewtween the 98. and the 99-02 f-bodies? Is it just the sensor it self? has anyone tried putting a '98 sensor in to see if it will make the temp guage function? thanks

I'm not a big A-pillar guage fan so i wanna try to aviod having to put a aftermarket guage in.

thanks.

the problem is with the instrument cluster. A board member here figured out a way to make the 99+ clusters work a few months ago but never got around to writing a write-up.
