How much would you spend to add 10 rwhp throughout the powerband?
Simple question: What is the MAXIMUM amount of money would you spend to add 10 rwhp throughout the powerband. This applies to everyone, from no mods, to decked out vehicles.

it all depends, when your modded to **** hp gets harder and harder to come by so you might easily spend massive amounts of money to get that 10rwhp while the guy just starting out will just spend 100 bucks on a lid and get 10rwhp.
im at the point were the only upgrade options i have are FAST 90/90 and EWP, neither of which are worth it to me now for a minimal gain.

I'm just trying to judge what it will be worth to me in the future. I mean, if I can get more power now from something, should I spend the money on it? That is what I am debating. For instance: for a little under $500 I can get the QTP HVC over their standard headers. But is it worth a little more power (10 rwhp maybe) to spend that money? I just wanted some opinions. Is it even worth $200 for a pulley or $130 for a ported TB? I mean, I don't want to have to buy stuff again and I don't want to waste my money. Like right now, there's no way I would spend money for the FAST 90/90 setup. WAY too much money. But maybe I would spend it on better headers. Who knows. Just wanted some opinions. Thanks!

just remember this: buy for the end result.
just because it makes a small gain now, doesn't mean it won't make more later. look at the big picture. don't buy things twice.
like that cutout you have for instance. i did one. got rid of it. didn't do squat for me in the 1/4 mile. oh sure i gained 11/13 on the dyno AFTER 3200 rpms. but the dyno didn't show what happened BELOW 3200 rpms. the track times showed it though
distance closed -- open
60ft ---- 1.97 ---- 2.07
1/4 mile - 12.10 - 12.08
mph ---- 117 --- 118
lost 60ft and gained mph but et no change. went to the bassani dual exhaust and picked up .3 and 3 mph over the cutout open. so, now the wife's car just got a bassani dual exhaust.
so, $200 for 11 rwhp and no change in et. i consider that $200 for no return on investment. nothing wrong with the cutout. just doesn't work for me. i know of people that have gained a tenth though. go figure.

Well if my plans go accordingly, I'm going to get duals so I won't use the cutout anymore. I'll either sell it or use it on another car.
As far as planning for the future, I'm debating about headers as is. Not sure whether it is worth it to spend extra money on HVC or not. Or maybe I should step up to 1 7/8. Who knows, maybe WAY down the road (like 5-7 years) I'll want to stroke the engine and need bigger headers. I doubt it though. But if I KNEW that I would pick up power from the HVC, I wouldn't hesitate.
It's the same way about Pulley, Ported TB, FAST setup, etc. I mean, at what point is the added power worth the money? That's where I was hoping to get some advice.
I mean, people spend $750 on headers to gain 20 rwhp, so that is $37.50 per rwhp. If the HVC added 10 rwhp on top of that (for $450), it is $45 per horsepower. That would be like adding the power from headers all over again. Is it worth it? That's a matter of opinion. I wish someone besides Durien had results of HVC before and after regular headers.
So maybe how I should say this is: If you planned to have 450 rwhp, how much would you spend to add 10 more?

hmm looks like i picked the most common one.. 300 here lol. course then again like the others said it all depends on how far along u are into mods.. and if winning or losing at ur next event depends on that 10rwhp!

Well I spent $65 for a used TSP lid and I spent $625 for GMMG but I got the sound to boot soooo it kinda depends on the gains and as previously stated what hp level your already at.
