stock tach cant keep up

Default stock tach cant keep up

just did lts,ory,hooker cat back,racetronix fuel pump, and slp air lid. and after that my stock tach cant keep up with the engine. any idea why this might be happening?

Stock tachs are always going to be off. Solution= get a shift light.

cars an auto trans,and its not that its just off its moving alot slower than the engine now. after parts put on

There is going to be a delay w/ a stock tach, the signal comes from your pcm to the actual mechanism that moves the needle, moving parts will cause a delay. A shift light on the other hand takes a light via a signal directly from the pcm. There are no moving parts so no delay. Same principle as drivetrain loss. This completly normal, the engine is going to outrun a tach.
