Default Exhaust tip sizing

I currently have the stock exhaust on my 99 TA. Iam not sure what I want to do for changing the sound; cat back, muffler, or out the back duals. I do know that for the exhaust tips I want polished rolled dual tips. Thunder racing sells megs tips http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...id=239&pcid=54 in three sizes. Should I get the 2 1/4" for the stock exhaust and if I go with a cat back reduce the size of the exhaust tailpipe? Or do I get the 3" for the TD down the road and enlarge the stock exhaust to fit?

Will there be any flow restrictions if I buy the smaller tip and have to reduce the exhaust pipe or vice versa? I just dont want to buy the tips twice if that is at all possible.

Thanks,
Chris

97-ST295 Megs Stainless Steel Exhaust Tip, Style B, 3" Inlet, Dual 3.5" Outlet, Angle Cut

Thats what I would go with, especially since you most likely will use 2.5" pipe to go over the axle duals. And, I havent seen any catbacks with 2.25" tailpipes. Its either 2.5" or 3".

Would a 2.25" magnaflow tip constrict a 3" exhaust too much? Could a local shop fab an insert to take a larger exhaust pipe to a smaller tip?

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ne=main&id=267
Rolled-Round-Angle Cut-Dual
DIA. LENGTH I.D. INLET PART #
3 Dual" 10" 2.25" 35168

Are there any other suggestions on dual tips?

I wouldnt use a 2.25" tip. And yes, you can get reducers.
