help please! setting tdc on 97 tahoe? haven't worked on too many chevy distributor setups before, anyone help me out with setting the distributor in the right spot? i am having a tough time finding tdc in the #1 cylinder. thanks!

Pull the plug out of the #1 cylinder head and get some one to bump the engine over a little at a time with the starter while you have your finger in the spark plug hole until the compression stroke plows your finger out and STOP right there. You are on the compression stroke and that is were you need to put the distributer in where it points to the #1 terminal on the cap. Start it up once you get it back together and reset your timing.
