Angry TSP Lid

Installed my new TSP lid tonight. All I can say is that I think the quality actually pretty sucky...... for $109. It fits bad, cracked when i slid it over the MAF, feels like I could just bend it a little and it would bust in half, has rivets holding pieces together that look like something I could rig up, and doesn't really sit tight on the filter. Now that I'm writing this post I think I'll call and talk to them about it tomorrow. I don't see how these are sold out all the time??

This is the first lid that I have bought (used to have LT1) so I'm not sure if the others are like this but I would recommend a SLP or Whisper etc....

Give them a call if it's really all that bad. I am perfectly happy with mine.

You say it cracked when you slid it over the MAF? There is actually a bellows that connects the lid to the maf, the lid doesn't touch the MAF itself. What bellows do you have? For SURE the stock one shouldn't be able to transfer enough force to crack anything.

Your sig looks much better blkZ28spt, with the black instead of the white lettering. The white letters hurt my eyes.

Actually, you wouldn't believe how long I spent trying to get my sig right. The lettering looks white to me. I used an automatic color setting instead of choosing my color and it looks good in every ls1tech skin save for one. Forget which one that was. I use the darkside skin.

I am also using the smilies a lot more. Of course, I know how to enter all of them without looking it up and clicking, which always helps.

It didn't come with one, I thought it should have a bellow between them.

It shouldn't come with one. You reuse the stock bellows when you install a new lid. The lid shouldn't be able to reach the MAF without the bellows. Not even close really..

The clear plastic on mine did seem awfully brittle. I loosened up my bottom airbox / radiator support and adjusted it so i would not put any unneeded stress on the lid. (tightened back up after adjustment, of course)

I thought there should be a piece of rubber hooking the MAF and lid together but I called TSP today and they said you just stick the MAF into the lid.

Yes, correct. The maf goes into the lid and the hoseclamp clamps the lid around the maf end. Dont tighten it too much.
