Default optimal shift point?

When talking about a manual 6, and talking about daily easy driving, what is a good RPM to shift at? I mean, what is good for the car as well as good on gas mileage, I am stuck between shifting low rpm and loading the motor or shifting high and burning more gas, I dont know enough about the LS1 to be able to make a good guess as to what a true sweet spot is.

Thanks!

I usually shift at 2500 or so, the owners manual has the all of the mph and rpm's that are best for gas mileage.

shift 1 to 2 at 15mph
2 to 3 at 25mph
3 to 4 at 40mph
4 to 5 at 45mph
5 to 6 at 50mph.........for best fuel economy

I just shift 1st to 3rd to 5th to 6th, little easier on the clutch
