Default Starter Fried itself. Help please!

Car has 70k on it with no problems like this so far, anyways go to start car, engine fires up and the starter stays engaged. I pull the keys out of the ignition.. the starter is still engaged. I pop the hood and go for the neg. battery cable. I couldn't get it detached intime and the starter fried itself. So I replace the starter and all is fine .. for a week or so then the exact same thing happened again. Car has fried two starters. What do you guys think the culprit could be? Ignition switch?

check the wires going to the starter.. make sure they haven't melted against something.
