Default Security Light is back on

I have a 96 Z28 that I can not get the security light to go out. The problem started when the 2 wires that come from the switch that reads the chip on the key shorted out and the car would not start. I got the wires fixed and everything was great for about 3 weeks and then one day the light came back on and has been on ever since. The difference this time is that the car starts and runs with no issues.

This was never a problem for me but I have since bought a Trans Am and want to sell the Z28. I need to get this fixed so when people look at the car they don't freak out because there is a warning light on.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Sounds like they did a VATS bypass. I agree w/ hourang, just take the bulb out.
