Default Dual/Dual, SS muffler the same??

I currently have the hooker catback with cme and am looking to go quiter.

I believe I want the slp dual/dual.

Some of the advertised dual/duals are also called camaro SS mufflers.

Are these the same bird??

The muffler I took off my car was not stainless. The dual/duals are stainless, right??

Thanks!!

I believe the OEM dual/dual had a stainless muffler/tailpipes/tips, the OEM D/D muffler and the aftermarket D/D muffler are basically the same but I think the OEM D/D has what they call "the cone of silence" and it's basically a restrictor in the driver's side tailpipe where it comes out the muffler, you can know for sure if you have one by looking at the tips and if one is cleaner then the other. Try searching for it, I'm sure you will find something.

Here's a pic of the cone of silence, most people take of the tailpipe from the muffler and cut it out.

My SS came with the optional SLP Dual/Dual. It has a stainless muffler and tips.

Without the SLP optional exhaust, I believe SSs came with the same muffler as Z28s, just different tips.

If you get the SLP Dual Dual, you'll like it!

ps. mine does not have the cone of silence....

The standard muffler that is installed on the SS from GM outflows the Z28 muffler. It is physically about 5" shorter and has larger tail-pipe outlets 2.5" vs. 2.25"
