Default Kooks and ORY are on!!

Well I got my Kooks and ORY on yesterday and let me say one thing......WOW. You would never believe how restrictive the exhaust manifolds are until you take them off. I can feel so much of a difference. I was surprised at how easily they went on, the quality of fitment is amazing. The stage 8 bolts didnt fit som Im going to take them back. Interior noise when cruising isn't all that much different than before with just the loudmouth, but when it is at WOT is absolutely screams! All together installation took about 4 1/2 hours due to some of the bolts were so damn hard to get reach to take off the manifolds and a break for some subs. And to be honest there isnt as much rasp as I thought either. Im very happy with them and am really happy I spent the extra $$. Only one question though......My car does seem to run a little hotter now, not much but just a little bit. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I had access to a lift so it made it really easy. To be honest I cant even begin to imagine doing the install without a lift. It made everything much simpler. If you can get access to a lift I would highly recommend it!

Why didn't the stage 8 locking bolts fit? I didn't have a problem with mine during my QTP long tube install.

The fitment of the Kooks is out of this world...I couldn't get over just how well they tuck up in there...enjoy!

The slight increase in temperature could be because headers put off more heat than manifolds...

i had the same problem with my bolts. the bolts fit, but the locking tabs didn't lock onto the primaries like they were suppose to.

I have no clue why the bolts didnt fit. We tried and they just didnt fit so Im going to take them back. Hey Scotty-Z, it sounds sooo bad *** with the Loudmouth! It really sounds like a beast! And not to mention 2nd and 3rd gear pull like crazy now! One question, how do I get the Y pipe to stop from hitting the floor board? I was thinking about getting a really thick piece of hard rubber and putting it between the pipe and floor board, like a piece of a roller from a boat trailer or something.

ya could do like me and take it to an exhaust shop and have em weld a hanger where it is hitting for about 30$ and it wont ever bother ya again.

Yeah thats not a bad idea. Maybe I will do that because I dont want the rubber melting and who knows possibly catching on fire, that would suck. Thanks.

you could also get the Muflflex "bumpstop" hangar from thunderracing.com for 40.00 made specifically to stop the ypipe from hitting the floorboard. its under exhaust then exhaust accessories, then scroll down.
