how do you know if you need egr fittings on headers?

Default how do you know if you need egr fittings on headers?

Guy at the shop who was gonna install mine says some have them some dont, mine is a 2001 car he says my headers dont have the egr fittings but my car needs them?

You don't NEED the EGR system, if yout headers have provisions for them and you don't want to use it just block them off, if your headers don't have provisions for them and your car has EGR just remove the EGR system.

The guy at the shop is an idiot it sounds like. If you have a 2001 then you have an LS6 intake and that has no EGR fitting, hence no EGR. Therefore, you don't need EGR fittings on your headers. Sounds like you got race headers, and if thats the case get rid of the AIR system as well.

you dont have egr you have a 2001

you have an air pump though

I thought i didnt have an egr with a 2001...

What should i do? the headers are pacesetters coated, without emissions fittings i guess. Can these headers fit my car? Should i take it elsewhere?

Yes they can fit on your car but you will need to remove the AIR pump and hoses.
