This may be a dumb question but say if you buy an exhaust kit for your car can you put it on yourself ? or do some peices need to be welded? or is that just for like custom exhaust systems?

Most systems can be done by yourself. An extra set of hands always helps, as well. Sometimes you may need a weld to be made, all depends!

What system were you looking into?

Yes, you can install it yourself. You might experience an exhaust leak at a seam or two, but a muffler shop could help you out there by welding it.

Depending on how many miles your current exhaust has on it might determine how easy it comes off. Sometimes the exhaust can be a real pain to remove if it's been on there a long time.
