Default Black coating building up around throttle body??

Hey guys, I was installing my SLP lid the other day and when I took off the MAF sensor I saw the throttle body with this black dark coating on most of the plate. Is this just normal for a car with 80k miles (00 Z28), do I need to use throttle body cleaner to take care of it, or is there something else causing the build up?
