Default EGR low voltage :: !EGR or replace?

I have a 99 Z28, no major mods.

Exhaust cutout, ported MAF, high priced gasoline, two fresh bank 1 O2 sensors (2 days ago). 2 NEW knock sensors. New plugs/wires. 139k miles.

What is happening is on deceleration, the car surges, RPMs drop below 500 and then up again. Get the code for LOW EGR Voltage, I don't remember what the specific code is.

I am not sure what to do. Here are my options:

1. Brand new EGR
2. Used EGR
3. !EGR (however, I don't have a way to eliminate it out of the PCM)

Recommendations are welcome.

Just take it all off & make you some block off plates. It will through SES light but will not hurt performance at all. I highly doubt the EGR is making your car surge & etc, more than likely its that ported MAF. Every since I ported mine, its been nothing but trouble. Finally bought a stock one & descreened it & thats it. That fixed alot of my problems. Just my .02

It could be the MAF, but I have had it done for that past 4 years and I am just now having these problems, plus the SES code is being thrown for the EGR.

If I were having the surging problems before, I would have taken it into consideration. But it is always worth checking. Thanks for your reply.

Could be a vaccum leak or the MAF. I had some surging as well removed my SLP MAF no surging.

Remove it and be done with it.

I can promise you the EGR has nothing to do with your surgeing. Hell, unplug it & see it it still does it.
