Default v10 plus exhaust...

i know this is a little off for an LS1 board, but my dad has an Excursion with a V10 gas engine in it. does anyone know how an exhaust system would affect his gas mileage? i told him it could only help... anyone?

It will help gas mileage and hurt your ears. V10's sound like *** IMO.

I had a dodge ram 2500 with the magnum v10 before this car, and I tried several exhausts on it. Straight cats, no cats with bullets, no cats with 40 series flows, and carsound cats with a truck/rv series spintech dual in/out. It sounded pretty sweet with the spintech, still loud as hell even with the crossover/h pipe, but pretty deep. It was way too raspy with the flowmasters. I read about a guy that got his to sound close to a v8 with the Magnaflow bullets.

As far as the mileage, I never got above 8 mpg in the city with that damn truck. I might have seen like 13 on the highway a few times. Also, oddly enough, I actually felt a power gain down low when I went back to cats and the spintech setup.

I think a v10 would sound pretty badass with a couple of XR1's, shame there isn't a site like ls1sounds for v10 trucks.
