Question Cat removal, exhaust burns eyes, Why?

After removing my cats, and having custom tuning to adjust for the removal, I stiil have all my O2 sensors plugged in. I had a custom pipe made without cats, and was able to keep all O2 sensor locations, your eyes will burn if you get in behind my car, Why?, if I had custom tuning to adjust for this. I did have bigger valves put into my heads 2.02s and 1.57's and the underside was ported. My computer was not adjusted for this, the head job was a surprise after I screwed up my cam install the first time, and had already had the computer tuned. Also my computer was tuned for the EGR removal. Should I unplug the O2 sensors? Do I need to get computer tuning again to adjust for the valve upgrade and the porting, is this causing my eyes to burn?, All input would be appreaciated.

My guess is that its just from the lack of cats. Whenever I go behind my car the smell is pretty strong but it never has burned my eyes. Leave the o2 plugged in, dont take those out. A tune will help though.

My guess is because you removed the cats, you have some unburnt fuel going out your tailpipes. The cats are there to act as a catalyst to burn up that unburnt fuel when they're installed. Since they're not there anymore, you have those vapors exiting your exhaust. Just don't stand behind your car with your eye on the tailpipe. My car does the same thing, but it doesn't burn my eyes though, just a slight smell of fuel.

Its most likely the unburnt fuel burning your eyes. It happens to me as well, if the air isnt moving, and Im behind the car.

If it so strong to burn your eyes you should prob have it re-tuned.

I have a F15 with tru-duals and i only have an ever so slight smell of fumes.

Thanx for the input, seems the exhaust after a bit more miles on my new cam has seemed to lessen the smell.
