Default ticking noise

not sure if this is the right forum or not, so if not could a mod please move it?

But anyway, whenever I turn my AC on there is a clicking type noise comming from under the hood. I cant really tell exactly where its comming from, more towards the front of the motor though i think. Anyone know what could be clicking, but only when the AC is turned on?

thanks,
Brandon

Why would it turn on and off, and not just stay on though. Say its something with my compressor and I have to get a new one, anyone know how much they are?

if it is the compressor turning off and on, then it may be low on freon or the clutch is bad
