LM help
Befor eanyone says it, I have already used the search button and nothing helped me. I have the LM and I am about to put on the Jet hot lt's and their catted y-pipe(I will not put the cats in, only for inspection). I want to quiet the car down a little bit. What muffler should I use in place of the lm resonator? I don't really wanna spend over 100 bucks. It would also be helpful if yall had clips.
Thanks,
Brandon

It is getting to be too loud for me now, and I just want to quieten it a bit. The jet hot y-pipe has removable cats, so I can take them on and off. I think I will prolly just leave them off. ANyone else have an idea on a bullet style muffler to put in place of the lm resonator?

You have few options:
DYNOMAX BULLET=same as LM but a little quieter and less rasp
BORLA XR1= same as bullet I think even quieter and more expensive.
SWEETTHUNDER= It quiet it down a bit and give you a throaty rumble.

Does the sweetthunder muffler flow well? I think I just read somewhere on here that it doesn't flow well. Will the sweetthunder quiet it down at all? I am tired of turning on the car and waking up the whole neighborhood. Will it get rid of some of that?

Sweethunder is straight through but with a inner diameter of 2.5''. If your not going to run cats its gonna be hard to quiet down your exhaust. I'm sorry I miss read your thread. I thought you were planning on leaving the cats on. The sweethunder will take some that away and give you a good rumble. Just to give you an idea my car with stock manifolds and the thundermouth is louder than my brothers cammed,LT'S, catted y and hooker catback TA. Your probaly better off adding a muffler from Magnaflow or Hooker. Good luck!

Close enough. Now my exhaust is loud with a good exhaust note. It really throaty and rumbly. I have an A4 and it sounds good. But I"m pretty sure it will way more bad *** with a M6. I rather pay 67 dollars than 600 dollars.

I used a Moroso spiral flow when I had that setup. It was a little louder than stock at idle, and had a nascar sound at WOT. It is the quietest of the "bullet" style mufflers.
I think in your case the Borla or the Moroso is your best bet.

I'm going to have to say Moroso too. I've got them on my true duals and they really do reduce the overall volume of sound at idle (have tested, took the back pipes off, which includes the spiral flows, and the sound level seemed to almost double). They've not very expensive and flow nearly as well as bullets...

If it's getting to be too loud for you now with cats, you have no idea how much louder it's about to get. It will easily be twice as loud with an ORY and LT's (been there, done that). If you want it quiter than it is now, leave the cats on and put one of the above mentioned mufflers in place of the resonator.

Just get the Borla XR-1 and you will be content! Thats what I did. I am real happy. It took away all the rasp that you will have with the ORY.#40085 is the part number. It has a nice deep tone and I love the WOT sound!
Thats my .02 cents

i put the xr-1 muffler in and i am happy with that...it does take away all the rasp and gives the car a much deeper sound and it quiets it down a fair amount at idle but a wot its still loud...just get that and you will be happy!
