Default Pulling Motor From Bottom - 2 Questions

Pulling motor from bottom tomorrow. I have everything ready to go except:

1) How do you get the steering linkage off? I have pry'd, hammered, cussed, etc... and cannot get it off. I was thinking I could loosen the upper and lower bolt and allow the bottom to slide off as I raise the car.

2) Where do I attach my engine hoist to? I have a fair collection of chains and straps, just not sure where I can attach them. If anyone has pics, please let me know and I'll pm you my email address.

Me and some friends just took a LS1 motor out thru bottom about this time last night.

1. As you drop the motor out, it will slide off.

2. Depends on what you plan on doing… We took the heads and tranny off after we droped the motor and 2 people (maybe one strong) can easily carry the motor.

hpt - thanks for the info. I should clarify my #2 question. I need to know where to attach the straps to the car so I can lift the body off the motor.

Thanks

Is that the only way to remove the motor......through the bottom?

I got it worked out. Inspector12 stopped by and showed me what I needed.

I found his write up, but the pictures were no longer there.
