Alot of people on this web site say that BBK TB sucks like HELL.You need to get your TB ported and polished.I had my ported by Cammin BeaSSt for only 75 dollar plus shipping.Bo White, site supporter ported and polished TB.Shane is another well respect guys who also ported and polish TB.Some say that Jantzer is on shaky ground when it come to getting you TB ported and polished.

I went with a Bo White ported TB and can't eb happier. I haven't put it on the dyno yet but but I know the trhottle response it better and I feel like I gained a nice bit from it as well. Can't beat the price either.

How can porting a stock TB help when you need more air. the stock TB steal has the 78mm throttle blade and a BBK has a 80mm throttle blade .I can see polishing the stock TB to make a smoother flow of air but there is a 2mm restriction with the stock TB compared to the aftermarket one 80mm .Ive got the BBK and it works perfect but it just need to be tune like any aftermarket parts that changes fuel or air flow, right?

I purchased a ported TB a while back and noticed a big difference in both throttle response and driveability. I then found a great deal on a ported BBK 80mm from a member on here and decided to try it. Absolutly no difference at all. I don't know about HP gains or losses but it drove exactly the same as with the ported stocker. I say if you are going for big mods in the future and if you like the look of it and the idea of aftermarket go for it. If not a ported stocker should do you just fine.

I ported my own and was thrilled with the response. It took about an hour and was fairly simple. I can't compare it to an aftermarket, but I doubt it would give me any more gain than I felt with the home ported job. Just takes a little patience and know-how. Search for instruction on doing it yourself. Well worth the effort.

I will put a properly ported stocker up against any aftermarket 80mm or smaller TB anyday. The stock TB is 75mm buts not a true one because of the way its cast/machined for GMs suppliers.

Mark Shaner does some great work too. I just ordered an S3 version, and it was $125 shipped plus a core charge. There are many happy customers out there with his units. I just sent you a PM with his website.

I raised this question awhile ago with my Tuner and he explained that a BBK 80mm TB will yield no larger gain over a ported stock TB unless the inlet of the LS6 intake is port matched to the larger 80mm BBK opening. With that being said it is not cost effective to go the BBK route when a ported stock TB & LS6 intake perform well enough allready. If you want to spend money on a new TB then go for a NW 90mm along w a port matched FAST LSX.
