Default Ported TB's

I have a question to everyone and yes I have searched already and this issue has not been addressed. I understand porting a TB bigger opening = more air in= more power. But with the stock TB you still have the same size blade so the hole is still the same size. No matter how much bigger you make it before or after the blade it still has to bottle neck through the stock sized opening. So my question is how and if do they actually make more power and are they worth it on a bolt on car. Also would it be better to buy and aftermarket Tb that actually has a bigger blade? Thank you.....

It is worth it because you can do it yourself and it is maybe good for a couple hp, your more than welcome to spend 350 on a bbk 80mm but imho it's not worth it.

If you have to ask this after searching, you apparently haven't searched well enough. This has been addressed a dozen times by myself and Bo White, and other individuals.

Yes, its worth it. If you had searched worth half a damn you would have seen dozens of dyno graphs proving it, as well as the countless threads where we've driven this arguement into the ground.
