Default Dual Cutouts = loss of power?

Is it true? anyone has any dyno numbers to prove that a single in the I pipe works better?
Curious to know why dual cutouts are doing this?

thanks

it's to do with the exhaust pressure wave.

A single cut out may or may not be better as flow rate is also important.

Check the sticky about exhausts and mods. It should be able to answer your question. Look for the info by David Vizard (I think post 13 or something).

My duals work fine - there is just one dual straight muffler near the back of my car. My whole system works well. Best of 11.818 with muffler in place and cutouts open. But if i take the rear muffler off it drops another 0.060 due to weight and a little less back pressure.

Cutouts - make the car sound awesome. Plus it can be real quiet when they are closed.
