Default stock exhaust size, and what sounds better?

i know this wrong thread but no one answers in other ones. i have an 85 firebird 4bbl 305 i want to put a cutout but i don't know what the stock piping size is does anyone know. i went to summit racing an they only had 2 1/2 and 2 3/8s i thought it was 2 1/4. so i am confused anyone know what size it is thankyou. also what would sound better, i have 80 series flowmasters. would a straight pipe in place of the cat sound better or a cutout before the cat, if i did a cutout before the cat wouldn't exhaust fumes come into my car no matter what direction i place it?? thanks guys

Default

I think its 2.5, you can just take it to your local muffler shope, and they will do it for you the right size too. Dont waste the money ordering one.
