Default AIR question

i had my lontubes installed with out AIR, when cruising at low rpms i can here a noise...like a light whiiring, almost like a power drill is that the air pump...?

It should only be before the car gets to operating temp. Why dont you just pull out the AIR pump itself?

Get under the the car in front of the driver side front tire, and remove the plastic panel thats parallel to the ground. The pump is in there. You could just UNPLUG it and see if it fixes your problem.

If its not even hooked up, its worthless anyway.

thats what i thought, my headers are air free so im guessing the pump is still in there pumpng away
but the shop tuned out the air code so i wont get a engine light...im so damn confused

The air pump works only while the engine is not at operating temp. So if you're cruising at a low rpm im assuming you have let the engine heat up first, so I would have to say it's not your air pump.

Just because they tuned out the code, that doesn't mean it will no longer come on. You can just remove the bastard and see if it's fixed.

!bullshit is one of my favorite mods to do!

for diagnosing the whirring sound - pull the fuses out for the AIR system...you'll also find out if they indeed tuned the codes out

for cleaning things up/weight reduction, pull the damn pump out
