Default off road y pipe or qtp cut out?

i was planning on getting a qtp cut out converter from ws6project.com..then i heard unless you have a high compression engine, after market cams, etc.. a cut out would actually make your car run really bad..so i was just going to get an off road y....but couldnt i just open the cut out only to the point where the backpressure would be the same as a aftermarket y w/o cats??..which one will add more hp, and be better for my car..i like the thought of a elec. cut out, its cheaper too...any advice? thanx

Default

I have a cut out with no internal mods and it seems to run just fine.
I had the cut out before the headers with no ill effect.
